Surge Absorbers

Surge protective devices(SPD)/surge absorbers are used for power line and communications systems in appliances or electronic products for the purpose of protecting against electrical surges and spikes. Mitsubishi Materials' surge absorbers are made using micro-gap technology which give them quicker and more accurate surge response characteristics.
These are broadly divided into power, communication, and ESD applications.
Surge absorbers are also called surge arresters, lightning arresters, gas discharge tubes.

Protection from surges on power supply lines for switching, inverter, uninterruptible (UPS), and office and home appliance power supplies, as well as photovoltaic power conditioners and inverters, EV/HEV chargers, and outdoor LED lighting.
