Mitsubishi Materials Corporation ("MMC") has been making preparations and detailed considerations within the New Europe Company Preparation Department since May 2024 for the establishment of a regional management company in Europe and has decided to establish Mitsubishi Materials Europe B.V. in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, by expanding and reorganizing the functions of MM Netherlands B.V. (The Netherlands), a wholly owned subsidiary of MMC.

In our Medium-term Management Strategy FY2031, we as MMC Group formulated Our Commitment: "For people, society and the earth, circulating resources for a sustainable future." We are promoting various measures to enhance the recycling of metal resources based on our strengths and realize growth throughout the value chain by expanding the scope, regions and scale of our operations. Against this backdrop, we intend to further enhance the competitiveness of our resource recycling businesses by establishing bases in Europe, a large-scale market and a global leader in policies and other measures relating to the environment and the securing of important mineral resources, and by formulating business strategies and expanding quickly and assuredly in the region.

Mitsubishi Materials Europe B.V. plans to make MM Metal Recycling B.V., which collects and samples E-Scrap for MMC Group, MMLP Holding B.V., which is a joint venture company investing in the Los Pelambres Mine, and H.C. Starck Holding (Germany) GmbH, which it plans to acquire in the future., its subsidiaries.
In Europe, Mitsubishi Materials Europe B.V. will work on formulating and implementing strategies in Europe, including the E-Scrap recycling business, etc. and the Tungsten business. Its role will also include managing and supervising operating companies in Europe and managing copper mine dividends. Mitsubishi Materials Europe B.V. will also be focusing on formulating strategies to create synergies that go beyond business divisions and overseeing management of MMC Group in Europe.
Going forward, MMC Group will continue to fulfill Our Commitment through the implementation of various measures set forth in the Medium-term Management Strategy FY2031.
