Mitsubishi Materials Corporation
Mitsubishi Materials Corporation ("MMC") established the "New Europe Company Preparation Department" on May 1, 2024, for the purpose of preparation and detailed planning for the establishment of a management company that will conduct strategic planning, management, and supervision of business mainly related to resource recycling in Europe (the "Management Company").
In the Medium-term Management Strategy FY2031, MMC Group established "For people, society and the earth, circulating resources for a sustainable future" as Our Commitment and is working to build a recycling system of metal resources based on our strengths and realize growth throughout the value chain by expanding the scope, regions, and scale of our operations. In this context, we position Europe as an important region for business development related to resource recycling in the future, and we believe it is important to set up strategic planning functions in the region to accelerate business development. To this end, we established the "New Europe Company Preparation Department," and will proceed with preparation and detailed planning for the establishment of the Management Company.
The Management Company will be engaged in planning strategies in Europe for MMC's business, including the copper mine management business, the tungsten business, the recycling business of copper-based scrap such as E-Scrap, and the lithium-ion battery (LIB) recycling business, as well as planning strategies for creating synergies across business divisions, and managing and supervising each operating company in relation to the aforementioned businesses. In the future, we plan to consider the role and positioning of the Management Company, including the overall management of MMC Group in Europe.
Going forward, MMC Group will strive to fulfill Our Commitment through the implementation of the measures of the Medium-term Management Strategy FY2031.
