Mitsubishi Materials Introduces Internal Carbon Pricing System
- Promote capital investments that contribute to decarbonization -

Mitsubishi Materials Corporation ("MMC") will introduce an internal carbon pricing (ICP) system in April 2024 in order to raise awareness about greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and further promote its decarbonization efforts. Under the ICP system, MMC sets its own hypothetical price for GHG emissions and uses it for investment decisions.
MMC Group aims to reduce GHG emissions (Scope1+2) by 45% (compared to FY Ending March 2021) by FY Ending March 2031 and achieve carbon neutrality by FY Ending March 2046. We will actively promote the reduction of GHG emissions by introducing the ICP system and promoting investments that contribute to decarbonization.

In MMC Group, we set "For people, society and the earth, circulating resources for a sustainable future" as "Our Commitment." We will continue to sincerely address the issue of climate change and promote business activities aimed at realizing a decarbonized society.
