Mitsubishi Materials Corporation has revised the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction target for the Group announced in February this year, based on our latest business structure.

Regarding direct emissions by the business operator (Scope 1) and indirect emissions resulting from the use of supplied energy (Scope 2), we have recalculated the reduction target by excluding GHG emissions of Diasalt Co., Ltd., whose share transfer was completed in March of this year, and aim to reduce by 45％ (*1) by FY2031 (compared to FY2021).
In addition, we have also reviewed categories 1, 3, and 15 (*2) of GHG emissions from the activities of supply chains (Scope 3) based on the business restructuring of Diasalt and the latest GHG reduction plans of our copper ore suppliers and Mitsubishi UBE Cement Corporation, and aim to reduce by 22％ or more by FY2031 (compared to FY2021).

In our Medium-term Management Strategy from fiscal 2024 to fiscal 2031 (FY2031 Strategy), our Group has set out "Our Commitment" of "For people, society and the earth, circulating resources for a sustainable future." We will continue to thoroughly implement manufacturing that considers the reduction of environmental impact, actively promote the reduction of GHG emissions, and strive to realize a decarbonized society.
