Mitsubishi Materials Corporation
"Teine Forest, one of the Materials' Forests" ("Teine Forest"), a company-owned forest of Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, has been certified as one of the "Natural Symbiosis Sites" by the Ministry of the Environment.
"Natural Symbiosis Sites" are areas where biodiversity is being conserved through the efforts of the private sector, etc., and are certified by the national government. The certified areas are registered in the international database as "OECM(*)", excluding overlaps with protected areas.
We have promoted a variety of activities related to biodiversity conservation, including participation in the "30 by 30 Alliance for Biodiversity" led by the Ministry of the Environment, and providing information on Teine Forest for the "Certification Demonstration Project" that supports the establishment of a system for certifying areas as "Natural Symbiosis Sites."
We own 14,000 ha of company-owned forests across Japan, and we practice forest management considering the habitat of the flora and fauna that inhabit these forests.
We will continue to work on the conservation of biodiversity and sustainable forest management by appropriately maintaining and managing company-owned forests.
