As part of a revamp of its business portfolio in the Materials Business Area, Mitsubishi Materials Corporation ("MMC") has decided to discontinue the manufacturing and sale of copper and copper alloy bar products and ECO BRASS forged products (hereinafter "the Products"). These products are handled by the Copper & Copper Alloy Products Division.
MMC Group has adopted "creating the future through resource circulation" as the basic policy in its Medium-term Management Strategy and is working to enhance its business portfolio through a shift from "volume to value." In addition, MMC is currently accelerating fundamental structural reforms while simultaneously developing a business foundation for future growth.
Under these structural reforms and portfolio initiatives, in its Copper & Copper Alloy Products Business, the company is striving to build a stronger business foundation by optimizing its product mix amidst ongoing changes in the market environment and demand structure.
Up until now, MMC has been working to strengthen its value chain to optimize the production system in the Copper & Copper Alloy Products Business, including reorganizing the Sakai Plant and Sambo Plant into the Osaka Plant. In parallel with these restructuring initiatives, MMC has continued manufacturing and selling the Products primarily at its Osaka Plant. However, as part of its ongoing portfolio transformation, the company has decided to discontinue the manufacturing and sale of the Products to shift toward higher value-added offerings and prepare for future growth areas.
This decision is part of MMC's business structure transformation and portfolio restructuring based on the Medium-term Management Strategy, and the company is committed to the steady execution of a shift toward high-value-added products.

Going forward, MMC will continue to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society through the provision of high-value-added products and aim for further development of its Copper & Copper Alloy Products Business by building a flexible business structure that can meet diverse needs.
