Mitsubishi Materials Corporation
Mitsubishi Materials Corporation has added four new products, "Refined bismuth (Bi)(Ingot)," "platinum (Pt) sponge," "palladium (Pd) powder" and "tungsten trioxide (WO3-5)," to its recycling metal brand "REMINE," which is the first in Japan (*1) to specify the recycled content in nonferrous metal products.
The "REMINE" series is a nonferrous metal product that uses recycling technology, which is our company's strength. The recycled content is calculated in accordance with the international standard ISO14021 (JIS Q14021) (*2), and verified by a third-party organization (SGS Japan Inc.) to ensure higher reliability.
REMINE is a coined word combining "RE" meaning "repeat/reborn" and "MINE." With the aim of realizing a sustainable society, we will contribute to resource recycling and environmental impact reduction by recycling metals collected in the supply chain.
Sales of "Refined Tin(Sn)(Ingot)" and "Refined Lead(Pb)(Ingot)" began in January 2024, and the transparency and traceability of raw material information have been highly evaluated.
The products to be added this time are "Refined bismuth (Ingot)," which contains 92.2% or more recycled content, 100% "Pt sponge," "Pd powder," and "tungsten trioxide." "Refined bismuth (Ingot)," which is in demand as a low-melting solder for electrical/electronic equipment, "Pt sponges" and "Pd powders," which are used in automotive catalysts, and "tungsten trioxide," which is produced from recycled materials such as used cemented carbide tools manufactured in our Metalworking Solutions business, is used as a battery material.
Detailed products information and certificates issued by the third-party organization that certify compliance with international standards are available on our company's website.
The Mitsubishi Materials Group will contribute to the creation of a sustainable society through the supply of "REMINE" series products.
