Collaboration with Duoc UC, Chile's Technical Institute of Higher Education
- Contributing to the development of a metal recycling culture in Chile -

Mitsubishi Materials Corporation and Duoc UC (Chancellor: Carlos Díaz), a Chilean Technical Institute of Higher Education, have agreed to collaborate in the collection of used electrical and electronic appliances known as E-wastes.

In Chile, discussions are underway to implement a recycling law that includes electrical and electronic appliances, and the number of E-wastes collected for recycling is expected to increase in the future. In order for the recycling law to work effectively, it is essential that all residents understand the importance of E-wastes recycling. Under such circumstances, we will contribute to fostering a metal recycling culture in Chile through a partnership with Duoc UC that has campuses in 20 locations in Chile.

With the partnership, we will make a financial donation to Duoc UC for manufacturing E-waste collecting containers that will be installed in its school campuses. We also plan to actively support recycling promotion events which would be co-hosted not only with the school students and related parties, but also local municipalities and neighboring residents of the campuses.

Today, April 22, is known as "Earth Day," a day to think about the global environment, and various environmental activities and events are held around the world every year. We hope our initiatives will enhance the momentum for the establishment of a recycling-oriented society in Chile.

Mitsubishi Materials Group has set out "Our Commitment" of "For people, society and the earth, circulating resources for a sustainable future." We will expand metal resources recycling initiatives and strengthen the supply of high-performance materials and products.
