Mitsubishi Materials Corporation has set forth "building a foundation for co-creation and growth" as one of the key measures of its human resources strategy in its Medium-term Management Strategy FY2031 and is promoting Diversity and Inclusion initiatives in order to accelerate transformation by utilizing diverse human resources and integrating values.

We have expressed our support for "Business for Marriage Equality (hereinafter BME)," which promotes marriage equality (legislation of same-sex marriage) in Japan. BME is a campaign jointly run by three groups, the Public Interest Association of Marriage For All Japan (MFAJ), the NPO Lawyers for LGBT & Allies Network (LLAN) and the certified NPO Nijiiro Diversity.

Based on the notion that people are the creators of new value and the source of sustainable growth for our Group, we aim to achieve maximum organizational performance by creating an environment in which members of a diverse range of characteristics, including race, religion, gender, sexual orientation and gender identity, age, disability, nationality, place of origin, social origin and background, can coexist and recognize one another, allowing each individual to actively demonstrate their own abilities.

In FY2023, for the first time, we were given a "Bronze" award in the PRIDE Index, which evaluates a company's commitment to LGBT and other sexual minorities. Since then, we have conducted awareness activities, such as distributing a handbook within the Company to provide an opportunity to promote understanding of LGBTQ+, sponsoring Tokyo Rainbow Pride and having employees volunteer to participate in the parade, and hosting lectures by Allies during Pride Month.

Through various measures, we will continue to strengthen our efforts to recognize and respect diverse individuality and create new value to serve as a source of sustainable growth for our Group.
