PT. Smelting ("PTS"), a consolidated subsidiary of Mitsubishi Materials Corporation ("MMC"), has been expanding the processing capacity of copper concentrate at its Gresik Smelter & Refinery in Gresik District, East Java Province, Indonesia. The expansion project will be completed by the end of this year as originally planned, and production will increase from the beginning of 2024. With the completion of the expansion project, the processing volume of copper concentrate and the electrolytic copper production capacity at Gresik Smelter & Refinery will increase as follows.

PTS's Gresik Smelter & Refinery is one of the copper smelters outside of Japan that uses the Mitsubishi Process, MMC's patented continuous copper smelting process. MMC has participated in PTS, the first Indonesian copper smelting project, since 1996. We will continue to support the operations of PTS, which plays an important role in the Indonesian copper supply chain, after transitioning to the expanded production phase.

To commemorate the completion of the expansion project, a ceremony was held at PTS's Gresik Smelter & Refinery on Thursday, December 14,
attended by Indonesian President Joko Widodo and many other guests.
