Our thoughts behind the brand name “REMINE”

REMINE is a coined word combining “RE” meaning
“repeat/reborn” and “MINE”. The name was inspired by the idea
of pre-consumer and post-consumer materials as “mines”. The
brand name reflects Mitsubishi Materials’ commitment to contribute to the creation of a sustainable society by offering the value of recycled metals.

What is ISO 14021

It is an international standard for “Environmental labels and declarations - Self-declared environmental claims (Type II environmental labeling)”. This standard includes a definition of recycled materials and a method for calculating recycled content.

The Story behind the REMINE

In order to realize a sustainable society, it is our responsibility to our stakeholders to ensure the transparency and traceability of raw materials and other information in our products in the supply chain from the perspective of resource circulation and environmental impact reduction. Additionally, the need to quantify the environmental impact of products is becoming more important.

The “REMINE™” series offers non-ferrous metals products that respond to such social needs by using our cultivated strength in recycling technology. The recycled content is calculated in accordance with the international standard ISO14021 (JIS Q14021) (*3) and verified by a third-party organization (SGS Japan Inc.) to ensure reliability.

We are planning to expand the brand
to other non-ferrous metals
products going forward.
