Mitsubishi Materials USA Corporation has become aware of a fraudulent scheme involving counterfeit checks purportedly issued in the name of Mitsubishi Materials. This fraudulent scheme targets sellers of goods as well as persons responding to fake job/employment postings on the Internet. (It may also take other forms.) The scheme(s) are designed to defraud innocent members of the public. The checks are not legitimate and will not be honored. Examples of the scheme that have come to our attention include:
Please beware of this fraudulent scheme(s) and do not become a victim of this fraud. Please note that Mitsubishi Materials has no liability for this fraudulent scheme. If you send money to the criminals conducting the scheme, you may sustain substantial monetary losses for which you will not be compensated or reimbursed.
We also encourage you to notify your local law enforcement authorities whenever you receive any documents or notices that appear to be fraudulent; especially in those situations where you are asked to send money to an unknown person/company.
